Sacramento School's "Day of Silence" Resolution Vote

"to recognize the silencing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people due to discrimination everyday in our society." (link)

Where does one even begin on this...

First let me say this; if you are lesbian, gay or transgender--I don't care. I know that may seem a bit harsh but I am tired of having your gender preference forced on me (and my family). I am not only in favor of a day of silence I am in favor of your continued silence.

I am begging you to just shut up!

In order for tolerance to be cultivated and embraced we must eliminate this heterophobia.

What you do in your private life is your business. Stop making it mine.

If I wanted to have a day of silence, "to recognize the silencing of Christian prayer in the classroom". I would be immediately labeled as a fundamentalist nut--bag and dismissed. Yet protests like this are allowed to continue.

Should homosexuals be discriminated against in our society? Clearly the answer is no. Neither should homosexuality be forced upon those who quietly/ philosophically disagree with it.
